Resist painting is a great way to create an interesting piece of artwork. It is perfect for any age level. My daughter was not yet 2 when she made her first resist painting out of Cool Whip paints.
We have been playing with yarn a ton the past few days. We took some of that yarn & wrapped it around canvas. I tied it off tight in the back so that it wouldn’t jiggle.
Regular paint brushes would shift the yarn when painting, so we used cotton balls to dab the paint on.
After the paint dried, I cut away the yarn.
My daughter wanted to try next. Her snake Pinky even helped.
She found a new paint color that she loved, so she really went with it.
We were both excited about our finished products.

What type of paint works best for canvas when working with little ones?
Sorry, I am just seeing this for some reason. I apologize for the delay. We used acrylic paint on the canvas. 🙂
