Do not toss your old make-up brushes, use them to create something fun.
My daughter loves trying to play with my make-up brushes. So she was excited when I treated myself to new make-up and brushes this week and set my old applicators and brushes aside for her. We thought that the applicators would be fun to paint with. We weren’t wrong.
I cleaned and dried all of the brushes first.
I handed my five year old the brushes, some paper and tempura paint. She tried out each different brush. We had a three varieties of blush brushes, an eyebrow brush, a mascara applicator and an eye shadow applicator. It was interesting seeing the different lines and textures that they formed.
My daughter made this wonderful sunflower using two of the round blush brushes. I loved these and used this technique to make my own sunflowers and also some dandelions.
When my daughter finished, she named her painting ‘Country Barn’. It was fitting. As you can see, my daughter loves symmetry.
The great stamping technique that my daughter discovered while using the blush brushes inspired these two flower paintings. Check out our video on Facebook.
