It has been quite a few years since the last time I touched a scrapbook, but I still have a bin filled with pretty paper and scraps. These lovely mixed media Christmas trees were the perfect project to use up some of my old scraps and turn them into something beautiful.

Pastel & Watercolor Winter Scenes

We are expecting our first snowfall tomorrow. There are very few things as beautiful to me than the first snowfall of the year. Just the thought of snow, made me giddy and inspired this fun and pretty art project for the kiddos. We live in the woods, so I just wanted something that looked like our backyard after a snow storm.

This is an easy painting project that will be fun for kids to adults. I think they will love how the pastel resist and the watercolors work together to make these simple winter scenes.

Paper Cup Christmas Bells

On an impulse, I bought a box of jingle bells the other day. My daughter ripped into them immediately and started playing with them. She ran and got herself a pipe cleaner and made a jingly anklet. My little girl, was so thrilled about her new musical jewelry that she wanted to make more with our jingle bells and making bells seemed like an obvious, but fun choice. This is a great craft for the holidays. Make a Mr. & Mrs. Claus or some angels. Try a pack of Christmas carolers or just decorate your bells with paint, markers, tissue paper, stickers or gems.

A Piece of My Heart Homemade Ornaments

Whenever I look at our Christmas tree, I have to smile. Slowly over the years, all of our beautiful glass bulbs have been being replaced one by one by homemade keepsake ornaments.  Our tree is filled with so much love and memories.

Potpourri Christmas Tree Craft

We recently inherited a large bin filled with potpourri fillers. My daughter & I were so excited at the opportunity to use them in our crafts. We started a few days ago by using them to make salt dough and nature wreaths. We also formed some lovely winter wonderlands. While making our wonderlands and playing around the potpourri, we came up with another idea for the season.
