Our family took a trip to the zoo yesterday. We saw a lot of amazing animals during our visit, but my favorite of them all was the peacocks. I love peacocks. They are so majestic and beautiful. Seeing these amazing creatures inspired our latest project. We have made peacocks in the past. Last year. we made them by painting with bleeding tissue paper. This time around we tried using the straw blowing method. Here’s how.

Watercolor and Sharpie Shamrocks

All you need for these simple watercolor and Sharpie shamrocks is watercolors, a paint brush and a Sharpie.

We had ourselves quite a shamrock filled art day yesterday. Being the big bleeding tissue art fan that I am, I made some bleeding tissue paper painted shamrocks  for St. Patrick’s Day. My daughter began the project with me, but then chose a different direction. The end result is these easy and lovely watercolor and Sharpie shamrocks.

Resist art is wonderful for artists of all ages. From toddlers to adults, it is simple and fun to do. We have used tape, oil, White-out and cardboard to make resist art in the past, but crayon resist I think may be my favorite to do.
