Footprint Snowman Christmas Stocking
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope that everyone is enjoying their day & having fun with their families. Tomorrow kicks off the beginning of the Christmas season and I could not be more excited. I love the holiday season. Everything about it, the sounds, the smells & the lights just make me happy.
The holidays for me are all about making memories. Before having my daughter, I had a perfectly coordinated tree with fancy holiday knick knacks. Those have slowly been replaced through the years with homemade ornaments & I adore it. Some of my favorites are made out of my daughter’s foot and hand prints. This year I wanted to make a special stocking for our new home & new mantle.
I purchased an inexpensive stocking for a couple of dollars. I am sure you could pick one up at the Dollar Store.
I painted my daughter’s foot in white & pressed it onto the stocking. I used black paint & dotted on the eyes & mouth.
I cut up some felt pieces for the hat & scarf. I used a Sharpie to stripe the hat and scarf and added glue and glitter for a little holiday sparkle.
I glued the hat and gloves into place and added a pom pom to the end of the hat. I glued on a nose and buttons.
We finished off our snowman with pipe cleaner arms.
It came out so cute. I can’t wait to hang it up.

Charlie Brown Inspired Footprint Crafts
I have had Charlie Brown on the mind a lot these past few weeks. Charlie & the rest of the Peanuts Gang have a new movie coming out next month. It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown was on last night & my husband & I just had our Halloween costumes delivered. That is right, this year my hubby & I are dressing up like Charlie Brown & Lucy. We had wanted Mai to be Snoopy with us, but she was very insistent that this year she was going to be a witch princess.
I love Chuck & the gang & as I told you just a couple of days ago when I made the Dr. Seuss inspired footprint crafts, I seem to be seeing everything as feet these days. I decided to sneak in one more footprint craft for the week.
Charlie Brown & Lucy inspired footprints
For Charlie, paint your child’s heel in pale peach. Paint their toes in brown & the rest of the foot in yellow with one black stripe running across the foot near the toes. Press it onto a piece of paper & let the paint dry. Dot on an ear with the peach color. Use a black Sharpie or marker to draw in the face & the zig zag of Charlie’s shirt.
For Lucy, paint the heel in light peach again. Paint another strip of the pale peach across the portion of the foot right under the toes & then paint the rest in blue. Press onto a piece of paper & let the paint dry. Add a dab of peach for the ear. Use a black Sharpie or marker to draw in the face, hair & details of the dress to finish her off.
Stay tuned for pictures of me & my husband as Charlie Brown & Lucy after Halloween.

Footprint Animal Crafts A-Z Featuring U, V & W
Last night we tackled U, V & W in our footprint animal crafts from A-Z. That leaves us with only 3 more letters. These last few letters leave us with very few options. We opted to make a mythical animal for our U because of our lack of choices. Mai wanted a rainbow colored unicorn, so that is what we did. Here is how.
U is for Unicorn
Start by painting your child’s foot in the colors of the rainbow.
Press the painted foot onto a piece of paper.
Paint in a rainbow mane, ears & the unicorn’s horn.
Paint in the tail & legs. I actually messed up on the legs. Here is a little trick if you mess up on one of these crafts & don’t want to start over. Cut around the project, leaving out the error & glue it down to a piece of paper in the same color.
Paint or draw in the face with markers to finish it off.
V is for Vulture
Paint your child’s foot in red & black as shown.
Paint in the hind feathers on the side.
Paint in the beak & feet and use white paint to paint in neck feathers.
Dab on the whites of the eyes & outline the feathers. Use a marker to draw in the facial details.
W is for Walrus
Paint your child’s foot in brown & press onto a piece of paper.
Paint in the cheeks & nose and then the mouth & tusks.
Dab in the whites of the eyes & paint in the flippers. Use a marker to draw in whiskers & nostrils.
Paint in the eyeballs & paint in the tips of the flippers.

Footprint Animals From A-Z Featuring L, M & N
We are now more than halfway done with our footprint animal crafts from A – Z. It has been a fun project for Mai & I. She gets a kick out of seeing me turn her little feet into artwork & has learned about a few new animals. Last night our crafts covered the letters L, M & N. Our first one was L & while we tossed around a few different animals that began with L, we went with a lion. Here’s how.
Footprint Lion Craft
Paint your child’s foot mostly in yellow. Paint a lighter shade of yellow or white in a T-shape as shown. Press the foot onto a piece of paper.
Paint the lion’s mane around the heel & a pair of ears on top. Paint in the tail.
Dot two white circles onto the paper for eyes & paint in eyebrows. Let the paint dry.
Draw in the finer facial features with black magic marker.
Our next craft was done similarly.
Footprint Monkey
Paint your child’s foot in mostly brown with a lighter shade of brown in the middle as shown. Press the foot onto a piece of paper.
Paint in the ears & tail and dot 2 white circles on for the eyes & let dry. Use a magic marker to draw in the finer details on the face.
Add tree branches & vines for a final touch.
The narwhal was a new animal for my daughter. She thought that the horn was funny.
Footprint Narwhal
Paint your child’s foot in a gray or blue color & press it into a piece of paper. Paint in a side & rear fin. Dot on a white circle for the eye & paint in the horn. Paint some spots on the top of the narwhal & let the paint dry. Draw in the eye, eyebrow & mouth with a magic marker.

Dinosaurs Crafts
Our daughter loves to character play. Almost daily she takes on a new role to play & she likes to assign roles to us as well. For the past two days she has been a baby T-Rex. She has been roaming around the house roaring & stomping her little dinosaur feet. I decided to use those little dinosaur feet to make a T-Rex craft for our baby tyrannosaurus.
I painted her foot in 2 different shades of green & added a few black spot to her feet.
We pressed it onto a sheet of white paper & let it dry.
I drew in the tail, arms, legs, jaw, eye & teeth to form our dinosaur.
When we were done, she wanted to make another craft. “More dinosaurs!” It has been a while since we made a pasta craft. She wanted to make them out of pasta shells. We made a stegosaurus with our pasta.
We started with rigatoni for the legs. I used a glue gun to glue two pieces of rigatoni together for each pair of legs. (Adults should operate the glue gun.)
Choose a jumbo shell with well folded in edges on both sides.
Glue both sets of legs to the bottom of the shell.
Glue a medium size shell into one end of the jumbo shell.
Glue a piece of ziti into the opposite opening on the jumbo shell.
Add a bead of hot glue down the spine & add the elbow macaroni to form the spines.
Let the kids paint them in the colors of their choice & then let dry.
Add googly eyes to finish off your cute little dinosaurs.
