Perfect for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day or to welcome spring flowers.

It is true. My daughter and I both love working with yarn and with pipe cleaners. Yarn wrapping activities are a favorite of ours. My daughter also loves threading buttons and beads on pipe cleaners. These are wonderful for building her fine motor skills and they make some fun crafts. A new favorite of ours is coiling yarn and pipe cleaners for craft projects. At first, the yarn was too tricky for my daughter’s little hands, so she would coil with pipe cleaners instead. Now she can easily work with both. To get ready for Valentine’s Day, we made these coiled roses using both materials.

We don’t throw anything away in our house. We save cardboard tubes, egg cartons and every little scrap of paper. We work with construction paper a lot and we love to use scrapbook paper for our projects as well. Every left over piece of paper goes into a drawer in my daughter’s craft room. The drawer is full of scraps. You may wonder why we would save a drawer of scrap paper. Here is one reason that we love to hold on to these pieces.Torn scrap book paper heart craft for kids. My daughter has inherited a lot of hand-me-down books. We have so many that we don’t even know what we own. For a very long time, my daughter has only read a few of these books. Many just sat there collecting dust, but recently she has been diving into them all. We came across a few art books the other day. We found a few great “how to draw” tutorials and also came across a cute book filled with fingerprint crafts.
