I am thankful we did not have a real problem with this is our home. II did however have a moment with my first child, I was still getting use to changing my words in front of my child so I would end my inappropriate phrase with don’t say it.. lol One day I was fixing my hair in the bathroom with my little one watching, I banged my elbow on the wall and before I could say anything, my son says “dont say it, dont say it mommy!”

In reply to Janine Huldie. I know it is hard not to laugh. Right after having posted this today, our neighbor's dog got loose in our yard again & I said "That Jack is such a pain in the bum bum." Yes, I actually said bum bum. She immediately laughed & was saying "Jack, Bum bum" Lol!

With two little girls ages 3 and 4, I have so been there and you are totally right about not reacting and we have done are best to ignore, but there are times where my younger (who is more the one to push) has said something and I have to walk out of the room to keep from laughing (or reacting).

AHH haha so funny! OK, I shouldn’t laugh. As you listed in one of the rules! It really is amazing what kids pick up! They are SPONGES! Another thing that is tricky is watching what comments you’re making to them, even G-rated comments! You could joke about something and they will take it the wrong way and forever think that! (I don’t know if I’m making sense at all…..lol) anyways, great little post there

Football is a hot bed for foul language in our home. My husband is a die hard sport fan. My daughter actually even asks to watch football now. It is cute but husband definitely lets it fly during a Pats game.

Oh my goodness my daughter repeats absolutely EVERYTHING now. It’s insane! Luckily I have a pretty good filter most of the time unless I’m watching football. 🙂
