Hi Bridget. If this is a gift, card stock or thicker paper works nicely because it doesn’t curl up or wrinkle when painted on. I used non-toxic acrylic paints for the prints. When the paint dried, I did use a Sharpie for fine details, but most of the details were painted with a thin brush. Good luck. I would love to see how they come out.
