This technique is fun, easy and perfect for painting Christmas trees or winter tree landscapes. Fork painted Christmas tree - winter arts and crafts projects for kids. Stamp and paint with a fork. What you will need:

Fork

Acrylic paint or Tempura

Watercolor paper or thicker stock paper

Paper plate

Directions:

Squeeze green paint onto a paper plate. I like to use a few different shades of green for a little extra depth to the painting. Dip the fork into the paint. There are a few different ways that you can do this. You can press and stamp or drag the fork flat across the paper or another option is to paint a Christmas tree shape and then scrape off the paint. Be sure to make your strokes shorter at the top and longer at the bottom.

Here is the first Christmas tree that we created. We painted on a simple trunk and a star. Let the paint dry before adding ornaments to the top. You can paint on ornaments or use buttons or small pom poms.

We added another layer of branches to our second tree.

Use a round paint brush and/or Q-tips to add Christmas lights and ornaments to your tree.

My 5 year old liked this one and couldn’t wait to try it. She preferred the dragging method and dragged the paint and her tree branches into place.

She did a beautiful job on her tree and could not wait to finish it off and paint on her ornaments.
