Colored Oats Fall Tree Craft

Fall Tree made out of colored oats. A great sensory & arts and craft project for the kids for the fall autumn

I love the fall. It is my favorite season & there are so many reasons why, but the biggest of them all is the changing leaves. One of the advantages of living in New England is being able to take in the breathtaking autumn views. It is no surprise then that my favorite of all of the fall crafts is autumn trees.

Paper Plate Four Season Spinner

We live in New England. It is not uncommon to be playing in the snow one day and then to be outside in shorts the next. The weather can be crazy and unpredictable. As much as we sometimes like to complain about the ever-changing weather, I would not change it for a thing. There is something to love about each season.  My favorite is watching the trees. I love the gorgeous colors that the fall brings and the  haunting beauty of a bare tree getting ready for the winter. Right now, we are excited to see the buds on the trees preparing to sprout for the spring. We love each and every season. Because of this, four season crafts are a favorite of ours. Here is a fun four season craft with a twist (literally).Paper plate four season spinner. Winter, spring, summer and fall trees. arts and crafts for kids.

Black Glue Scarecrow Puppets

There is nothing scary about these adorable scarecrow puppets.

By now, you have probably already realized that I am in love with all things fall. Fall trees and their leaves are my absolute favorite, but coming in a very close second are scarecrows.  They are just so cute with their hair made out of hay, their floppy hats and their overalls. These black glue scarecrow puppets are fun to design and paint and will make for a fun fall themed puppet show for the kids when they are done.

4 Seasons Hand Prints

hand & finger print 4 seasons craft, winter, spring, summer & fall trees & leaves. Kid's arts & crafts

Happy Easter! I hope everyone enjoys their days with their families.

Yesterday was the first day that I felt like it was actually spring. The sun was out & Mai and I ventured out doors to take a walk. The wind was strong, but we were enjoying the fresh air & sun shine.  The green is starting to peek out from behind the melting snow in our yard. The warm weather is finally on its way & we couldn’t be happier.

After our walk it was craft time. To celebrate our change of season, we made a craft inspired by the four seasons.

Hand Print Seasons

We painted Mai’s hand & arm in brown & stamped 4 separate sheets of paper.

Have your child imprint the winter sheet with white finger prints for snow & red, yellow & orange finger prints for falling leaves. Use green paint for the summer tree’s leaves & blue for spring rain. Let dry & frame your sweet little finger prints to enjoy the best of all the seasons all year round.

Cork Printed Pumpkin Patch Art

My daughter found a box of assorted corks the other day. She was so excited when she found them and immediately wanted to know what she could do with them. Her excitement rubbed off on me and I had to find a project for the corks too. These champagne corks were perfect for our pumpkin patch.

Our favorite time of year is around the corner again and with it all of that beautiful fall scenery. This project is inspired by our Paint & Fold Winter Reflections. This is a favorite technique of ours. It is a fun and simple way for the kiddos (and adults) to create beautiful reflections.

If you enjoy our Paint and Fold Autumn Reflections, you may also like some of our other autumn arts & crafts.

Pastel & Watercolor Winter Scenes

We are expecting our first snowfall tomorrow. There are very few things as beautiful to me than the first snowfall of the year. Just the thought of snow, made me giddy and inspired this fun and pretty art project for the kiddos. We live in the woods, so I just wanted something that looked like our backyard after a snow storm.

This is an easy painting project that will be fun for kids to adults. I think they will love how the pastel resist and the watercolors work together to make these simple winter scenes.
