If you are a regular reader, you probably know that my daughter loves to paint. We like to try different painting mediums and experiments. We all the know the reaction that occurs when you mix water & oil. I was wondering what would happen if you used oil on paper and then added water color to it. Would the oil repel it on paper as well?
What you will need:
Water color painting paper
Cooking oil
Water colors (I just mixed water & food coloring)
Paint brush
Q-tips
In a small dipping bowl pour just a cap full of cooking oil.

Using a paint brush or Qtip dipped in oil draw out the design of your painting.

When your image is complete, you can begin painting.

Prepare your water colors.

Let your little artist do her work.

Well, It did not quite repel the watercolor, but it did give off this wonderful transparent effect when in the sunlight. Mai liked the butterfly so much, she asked mommy to make her one with an elephant too.
