I have been thinking about Halloween a lot this week. I realized that I had a little planning to do after my daughter informed me that she would like to be a princess witch this year. September is more than halfway through and Halloween is sneaking up on us quickly. With Halloween on the brain, it inspired us to make a few paper plate crafts. I love silhouettes. There us something so beautiful and haunting about them, which makes them perfect for Halloween. These Halloween silhouettes are an easy craft for all ages.

All you will need is:
Yellow & orange paint
Printable templates available at the end of post
Paint the plate in yellow. (Paint one plate for each silhouette that you are making.)
Swirl orange paint around the top of the yellow. Let the paint dry.
Sketch out a silhouette of your choice or one of our free printables onto a piece of black paper and cut it out. We chose bats, a witch and a cat.
Glue the shapes onto the paper plates and Voila you are done. They are as easy as that. Punch a hole into the top of your plates and hang them. These Halloween silhouettes will add a great holiday feel to your home or to a classroom.

Love it and thinking about Halloween here a bit, too with the girls deciding on their costumes now and hopefully going apple picking tomorrow, as well now 🙂
I love apple picking. I cannot wait to go. We have a big fall weekend planned too.
Simple and Spooky!! Been searching for an easy “Bats/Halloween” craft for our nocturnal animals unit and yours fits the bill perfectly!! I even found black bat shape cut-outs at our local teaching store, so even easier! Thank you!!
You are very welcome. I am glad you liked them.
Very cool…but I wish that you had a download of the sketched items above. I’m challenged when it comes to drawing.
That would have been a good idea. I will have to do that the next time. Thanks for the tip
