Paper Mosaic Easter Eggs

These paper mosaic Easter eggs are cute and easy to make and great for practicing scissors skills.

My daughter loves to cut. It is a very normal occurrence to see her sitting at her craft table cutting construction paper into little pieces. I have bowls of cut paper all over the house. This is one of the reasons that we love to make paper mosaics. Easter is only a few weeks away. If you are looking for a simple craft for Easter for the kids, these mosaic Easter eggs are perfect.Construction paper Mosaic Easter Eggs - spring and Easter arts and crafts for preschoolers and kids.

To make this craft all you will need is construction paper, a glue stick and a pair of scissors.

My daughter and I both cut pieces of pastel construction paper into small pieces.

We cut two egg shapes out of white construction paper. Each egg was a little less than a quarter of the size of a piece of paper.

We used a glue stick to glue the pieces to the egg shapes. For a more mosaic look, leave a little space in between each small piece. Do not worry if the pieces hang over the edge of the egg, you can trim the excess off later.

We used a half of a sheet of light blue construction paper for our backdrop and cut a sheet of green paper into a strip of grass and glued it to the bottom.

Once the backdrop was ready, we glued our eggs into place.

After my daughter finished with her mosaic eggs, she was inspired to make another egg. She drew this adorable hatching Easter egg on one of our leftover egg shapes. How cute is this?
