Hypnotize your friends with this simple paper plate craft. Here’s how we made this colorful and groovy paper plate spinning wheel.Paper plate psychedelic spinning wheel. Simple and colorful arts and craft for kids

What you will need:

Paper plate

Wooden skewer

Tempura paint, markers or crayons

Foam sheet

Low temp glue gun

Ruler

Directions:

Poke a skewer through the center of a paper plate.

Use a ruler to draw a straight line across the center of the paper plate. Draw another straight line across the plate to form a cross and draw several more lines to form a pie pattern.

Paint or color your pie pieces in with different colors. You can choose to make a bold black and white pattern or use vibrant colors. Color or paint the pie pieces directly across from one another in the same color.

Cut two small circles out of a piece of foam sheet. Use the skewer tip to poke a hole through the center of each circle and then remove them from the skewer. Poke the skewer through one of the circles and then through the paper plate. Then slide the last foam piece on the top. Clip the tip of the skewer off to prevent any eye poking accidents. Use a glue gun to glue the foam circles to the top and bottom of the paper plate around the skewer.  The top of the skewer should only poke out of the top of the paper plate slightly.

Use the stick to spin your plate and hypnotize your friends. I tried to hypnotize my daughter into cleaning her room, but mine must have been broken.Paper plate psychedelic spinning wheel. Simple and colorful arts and craft for kids

You can also try a spiral spinner. My daughter helped make this one and it was her favorite. P.S. This also doubles as a parasol.
