Rainbow Collage Craft Inspired By ‘My Color is Rainbow’

Spread the love

Inspired by the beautiful book ‘My Color is Rainbow’, this rainbow collage is a colorful kid’s craft that is great for working on scissor skills.

My daughter and I love to discover new books. That is why we were so excited when Agnes Hsu, the author of the amazing blog Hello Wonderful, published a new children’s book. Our whole family immediately fell in love with ‘My Color is Rainbow’. The story of Little White Arch is a beautiful one with a wonderful message. You will want to follow him on his colorful journey again and again. We felt so inspired by the story and its illustrations that, of course, we had to make a craft to go with it. Rainbow Collage craft inspired by the book 'My Color is Rainbow'. My daughter already knows My Color is Rainbow by heart, but we started by reading the book again. I suggested that we make a rainbow collage, since my daughter is big into collage art lately. Here’s how.

We gathered up construction paper in all of the colors of the rainbow.

My daughter and I cut different shapes out of all of the colors. This is great for working on scissor skills.

We used a glue stick to glue our shapes onto a piece of paper.

Little White Arch did not want to be left out. He wanted to be where all the colors were, so we had to add him into our project. My daughter asked me to help her cut out the arch and she drew in her own face. She gave him long eye lashes and told me that it was a girl arch.

The little guy got glued to the center of each of our collages. We added a few colorful buttons and strands of yarn to our collages to finish them off. That is the great thing about collages, you can add anything to them.
