Ladybug Art with Free Printable

Who else here loves ladybugs? Raise your hand. I know they can be pesky, but goodness, they are just so cute. We made some adorable ladybug art projects over the weekend and just had to share them with you. And we included a free printable ladybug in case you want to try one of your own.

What you will need:

Ladybug Printable

Watercolor paper

Construction paper

Paints, markers, colored pencils or crayons

Glue sticks

Optional: Newspaper, cardboard, buttons, etc

Our printable is only optional. Of course, feel free to create your own lady bug or do a project using both. My daughter used the printable and then made one of her own. There is really no right or wrong way to create this type of art. Here is just one suggestion.

Begin by printing out the ladybug printable.

Use paint, markers, colored pencils or crayons to color your ladybug in.

Create a background.

We like to use a watercolor background on most of our mixed media type pieces. Paint your backdrop and let it dry.

Cut out a leaf or flower or some sort of surface for your ladybug to rest on. Make sure that is it larger than the ladybug so that you can see it.

Glue your leaf or flower to your backdrop and paint or add in details or any other elements and voila a cute and easy art project perfect for the spring or summer.

My little one wanted to show mommy up with her own ladybug. Adorable!!
