My daughter and I love the famous artists. We also love playing around with different paint techniques. We combined the two for these Monet inspired landscape sponge paintings. The sponge created a wonderful backdrop for these impressionist style paintings. We chose Monet’s Water Lilies and Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies as our inspiration. These were quick, fun and easy, albeit a little bit messy, but we were both delighted at how they came out.
The fork has quickly become one of our favorite painting tools in our house. It adds such a great texture and a feeling of movement to a simple painting. These waterfall landscape paintings combine fork painting and sponge painting with gorgeous results. This is a beautiful art project for kids and adults.
My daughter and I had a lazy pajama day yesterday. We starting baking for our annual gingerbread project and we painted, crafted and drew. We made a lot of mess, but had a lot of fun.

Science for kids does not need to be complicated. The simplest of things can be fun & educational. I like doing experiments that require very little set up, clean up & are done with items that are easily accessible. This is about as simple as it gets.
