Say Yes To One More Book by Kim Uliana

‘Say Yes To One More Book’ by Kim Uliana

I have had a lot of bad luck in the past few years with people plagiarizing my poems and quotes. My most popular and copied poem was and still is “Mirror, Mirror on the wall, It does not matter if I’m short or tall.’

This one is now a close second. It saddens me, but at the same time it is wonderful that the words resonate with so many people.

This is one of my favorite poems and it all still rings true to me today. My little girl is growing more independent every day. I am savoring all of these moments and reminding myself

to always…

Say yes to one more book,

one more hug,

one more kiss tonight.

Tuck them in,

snuggle them &

ease all of their frights.

Cause one day, you will try to tuck

them in & they’ll be grown.

They will smile & say to you

they can do it on their own.

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall by Kim Uliana Poem Printable

Mirror, Mirror on the wall…
It does not matter if I’m short or tall…
If I have skinny legs or my hips are wide…
It only matters who I am inside…
Blue eyes, brown eyes, black or green…
What makes me most beautiful cannot be seen…
When you look at me, don’t judge me by my parts…
The most beautiful thing about me is my heart.

The Most Beautiful Thing

Once upon a time a few years ago, I took a sweet photo of my little girl looking at herself in the mirror. Looking at my daughter smiling at her own image in the mirror moved something in me and inspired me to write a poem about how it made me feel. The popularity of the poem was overwhelming. I was thrilled to see how many people were inspired by my message. Unfortunately, my daughter’s image and words were copied and reworked so much that the original origins have gotten lost. Because of this, I have found our poem being sold on a number of different sites as a printable. Never in a million years did I think of trying to make money off of this message for my child, but a printable version for those that wanted it did seem like a wonderful idea. Please enjoy our free printable poem.

Free Fill-In Mother’s Day Poem

A Free Printable Fill-In Poem for Mother's Day. It is fun to hear the answers to you kid's questions..

Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away. There are many things that us mother’s could get on Mother’s Day, a day at the spa, flowers, maybe jewelry or chocolates or perhaps just some time to take a much deserved nap. My favorite part of the day will still be to cuddle up with the ones that made me a mother in the first place.

My daughter & I had a little question and answer session that we turned into a customizable poem that I thought that you all might enjoy.

When You Think They Are Not Looking

BeFunky_IMG_8685.jpg

When you think they are not looking, they are taking mental note.

They learn through your actions & watch as you emote.

They can read the arch in your brow & recognize a blank stare

They can tell if you are interested or just too busy to care.

When you think that they can’t hear you, they take in every word.

They repeat the things that you wish that they never heard.

When frustration gets the better of you, think before you shout.

Choose your words carefully before you blurt them out.

When you think they don’t understand, they surprise you with what they know.

So talk to them and teach them and help their young minds grow.

When you don’t have time for one more book or one last kiss.

Remember that when these moments are gone, they’re the ones you’ll most miss.

So treasure every moment and dirty sippy cup..

because when they think that you aren’t looking, they will suddenly grow up.

Some Days I’m A Bad Mom

I keep my calm & don’t yell, even when we’re in a dispute

Some days I’m a lazy mom – I stop at Mickey D’s

I talk on the phone & sit around & park you in front of the tv

Some days I’m the funny mom – I am silly when I talk

You laugh at me when I tell jokes that begin with Knock Knock

Some days I’m the mean mom – I can’t help but scream & shout

You look at me with tears in your eyes when I send you to time out

Some days I’m a nurturing mom – I dry your every tear

I hold you close & comfort you & let you know that I am near

Some days I am the jealous mom – Tonight you like daddy more

I smile with a tinge of envy at the two that I most adore

Some days I am a patient mom – I answer every “Why?”

I take my time & carefully give you a well thought out reply

Some days I’m the frightened mom – I am scared almost every day

I ask God to please watch over you each & every night while I pray

Some days I’m the know-it-all & some I don’t know what to do

I am many different kinds of mother & all of them love you

A Portrait And A Poem For My Birthday Girl

IMG_20150106_230309533

It all began with mornings so sick .

Then turned into a heartbeat, a flutter and kick.

This little life growing inside of me.

A boy or girl, which would it be?

When you came to me that winter’s night.

A new mother unsure and so full of fright.

Dirty diapers  and nights with no sleep.

Often, I would cry and would weep.

With just one smile, one laugh, one kiss.

All tears were erased and replaced with pure bliss.

Crazy antics, milestones.

A heart full of memories overflown.

Time went by in a blink of an eye just like they said it would.

I would pause it all and slow time down, if only I could.

You have filled my life with happiness each and every day.

I love you more & more my dear. Have a Happy Birthday.
