I doubt it is a surprise that I love footprint crafts. I just can’t get enough of them. We have made animals from A-Z, musical instruments & even a volcano. A couple of weeks ago I made a footprint craft inspired by the painting The Scream. I had so much fun with it & wanted to experiment with turning my daughter’s footprints into more works of art. We chose Whistler’s Mother & The Son of Man aka The Man in The Bowler Hat.
Footprint Art Inspired by Whistler’s Mother
As always, it begins with a painted foot.
Paint your child’s foot in black.
Press your child’s foot onto a light blue piece of paper at an angle.
Paint on the collar & the hand with a lacy sleeve.
Paint in the neck, face & hair.
Paint in the bonnet.
Paint in the chair & the background to finish it up.
Footprint Craft Inspired by Man in the Bowler Hat
Paint your child’s heel in a light peach color & black, with the black on the top. Paint a white triangle under it & then paint the rest of the foot in black.
Press the foot onto a piece of light blue paper.
Touch up any areas that need it. Paint in the hat & the green apple.
Add in the tie & define the lapels on his coat & buttons. Paint a line to start your background.
Paint in your background to finish off your picture.
