Yarn Wrapped Cat in the Hat Hat

If you are a Dr. Seuss fan like we are, you may be looking for a fun and easy craft to celebrate his upcoming birthday. When you think of Dr. Seuss, what is the first thing that you usually think of. I almost always immediately think of the Cat in the Hat.

 Toilet paper tube Dr. Seuss headband hat. Recycle cardboard rolls wrap with yarn for an easy Cat in the Hat inspired arts and craft project for the kids. A great fine motor activity as well.

Shape Caroler Craft

Yesterday, we used some old corks and the last of our fall acorns to make a group of adorable Christmas carolers for our fireplace mantle. My daughter loved the idea of those carolers and thought that their little heart shaped mouths were so cute, so we just had to make another caroler craft.Make these adorable Christmas carolers with simple paper shapes. Holiday and winter arts and crafts for kids. Add yarn or cotton balls for extra embellishment for winter hats or scarves.

My daughter is a big fan of cutting shapes out of construction paper to form pictures. Her scissor skills are amazing at only 4 because of this. We wanted to make a simple caroler craft using shapes. Our carolers only needed a few. We cut out a circle, a half circle, a triangle and then a rectangle for our book. We decided to fashion our carolers after each other. I made a caroler that looked like my daughter and she made one that looked like me.

My daughter and I went shopping the other day and found that the Christmas decor was already in full force. She was wide-eyed and excited to see all of the holiday items displayed. “Look mama, Christmas.” We saw a pretty sparkly wreath in the store that caught her eye. She oohed and aahed over it. Coiled Fall Trees

Ok! I am slightly obsessed with fall trees, but why wouldn’t I be? They are beautiful and so fun to make.Yarn Coiled fall and autumn trees with sequins. As you may know, we love working with yarn and I had an idea for a fall tree craft using yarn. I drew a swirly branched tree onto a piece of construction paper and cut a bunch of small pieces of yarn and coiled them with my fingers to glue around the branches. I thought that this would be a great fine motor activity as well as a pretty craft for my daughter.

We just discovered that we have a hive of bees living in our porch. Every day for the past few weeks, the bees have been buzzing around our heads as we are outside playing.
