Vampirina Mania has taken over our house. My daughter cannot get enough of that adorable little vampire. I have to admit, I like her too. It is such a cute cartoon about a little vampire girl just trying to find her place in the human world with a little help from her human and not-so-human friends. Our new favorite character inspired this vampire girl paper plate mask.

Flying Bats Sun Catcher Craft
Bats are our thing this Halloween. We made these fun Dixie cup bobble head bats a couple of weeks ago and we had so much fun watching them bobble and fly that we wanted more. This time around our bats are swinging and flying and looking lovely doing it.

Hypnotize your friends with this simple paper plate craft. Here’s how we made this colorful and groovy paper plate spinning wheel.
Spring and Summer Fan Craft
These hand fans are an easy and lovely craft for the spring and summer.
We made pretty Asian style hand fans for the Lunar New Year a few months back. They were such a big hit and so much fun to make that we wanted to make more for the spring and summer. I love these fans. They are simple to make and the kids will enjoy decorating them with their own designs.
‘Moana’ Kakamora Inspired Paper Plate Craft
Moana fans will love these Kakamora inspired coconut pirate crafts.
Moana is the new favorite movie in our house. My daughter just can’t get enough of it. There are so many wonderful songs and characters in the film. The funniest of the characters are the coconut pirates called the Kakamora. They are cute and deadly.
My daughter and I both wanted to make a craft inspired by the nutty pirates. I had an idea to make them out of a paper plate. My daughter had an entirely different idea in mind. She wanted to make hers with foam and paper. Here is how they both came out. Also, check out our Moana inspired flower crown.
‘Moana’ Inspired Paper Plate Flower Crown
Do you have a little Moana fan in your midst? If you do they will love this Moana inspired flower crown.
Moana madness has hit our home. Our little girl loves the brave and feisty Moana (affiliate link). We have watched the movie more times than I can tell you and there is no sign of our daughter losing interest any time soon. She has even already requested a Moana themed birthday party for next year. With as crazy as my daughter is for this adventurous young girl, I wanted to make her a little something special (with her help). Moana wears a few different crowns and headpieces throughout the film, but I love her simple leaf and flower crown. I thought this would be perfect for a little pretend play.
Bleeding Tissue Paper Earth Craft
Have you ever tried painting with tissue paper? This bleeding tissue paper Earth is perfect for Earth Day.
Painting with bleeding tissue paper is a favorite of ours. I am not sure what is more fun, ripping up the pieces of tissue paper or using the spray bottle and watching the colors run. Either way, we love this process. We have made snowflakes for the winter and spooky trees for the fall. The spring is here and Earth Day is right around the corner. This bleeding tissue paper Earth seemed like the perfect craft.
Paper Plate Cloud Guy Craft
If your kids are Trolls fan, you have to try this cute and funny paper plate craft inspired by Cloud Guy.
We bought the movie Trolls last week. Since we bought it, we have watched it three or four times. My daughter loves those adorable Trolls, but our favorite character is by far the cloud. His part is a small one, but it is memorable. She loves him so much, that a Cloud Guy craft was a must.

The “Cloud Guy” looked like a simple enough character to make, so I wanted to make one with my daughter.
Paper Plate Hand Fans
While everyone just finished welcoming in the New Year, my family and I are awaiting another New Year’s celebration. January 28th is the Chinese Lunar New Year and for my Vietnamese family it is Tết .

I have been talking to my daughter about the upcoming holiday, so over the weekend, we made some crafts to help ring in the New Year. I can remember being a little girl and loving my mother’s beautiful hand fans. I thought that making some of our own would be a fun project that my 4 year old would enjoy.
Trim Santa’s Beard Cutting Activity
My daughter loves using scissors. She got her first pair of safety scissors when she was two. She loves cutting activities and crafts. Among some of her favorites were a simple paper plate hair cutting activity and a trim the Christmas tree one.

Working on scissor skills is great for your child’s fine motor skills and their hand eye coordination. Scissors are also a useful tool and if your child is anything like mine is, it is also a fun activity.
