Nature and Watercolors

Nature and watercolors combine to make a beautiful and fun piece of process art.

With the warmer weather here, we have been playing outdoors a lot more. All of this outdoor play means our nature boxes are filling up with great supplies for art projects and crafts. We gather and collect nature items all of the time and set them aside in boxes. It is fun to find different shaped leaves, rocks and cool looking plants. My five year old loves to glue nature items to paper to make collages. That is where we found inspiration for this nature and watercolors project.Nature and watercolor paints art collage for kids. A pretty and fun piece of process art for the preschoolers and kids. This is a great spring and summer arts and craft project

Watercolor Dipped Flower Art

This pretty watercolor technique is perfect for the spring or summer.

In our house, we love to work with watercolors. We like to make our own because we go through them so quickly. We have made solid watercolorswhich we love to use, but most of all, we just water down acrylic paints or mix food coloring with water. It just so happens that we did both of these things this past week and had quite a bit of both leftover to create these gorgeous watercolor dipped flowers. Watercolor dipped flower art. Cherry Blossom Drip Art

This is a big week for us. Our little girl turns five this week. I can hardly believe it.  We have been getting things ready for her big Lego themed party, but still managed to paint a little something together in honor of her and her birthday. My daughter was named after my mother. They share the same name with the same lovely meaning, cherry blossom.

Fizzing Heart Art Eruptions

These fizzing heart eruptions are a fun way to combine science and art with beautiful and unpredictable results.

Baking soda and vinegar eruptions are a favorite in our house. The ingredients are usually always readily available, they are easy to set up and fascinating to watch. My daughter wanted to make them this week and so we did. With Valentine’s Day nearing, we thought a fizzing heart project would be perfect.Fizzing heart baking soda and vinegar heart paint eruptions.
